Beautiful

Sometimes it's easy to get worn down by the rhythm of our lives, especially when that rhythm is one of constant service to others.
And then those others go to bed and you manage to get the pictures off of your camera, which in itself really just feels like another act of service to said others, as if it is a great burden and responsibility to preserve amazing moments of their childhood to look back on and appreciate later, and you see a picture like this...a photograph.

A fraction of a second caught in time.

And you are recharged. Suddenly, you want to get them out of bed and hug them, bake cookies with them, go on walks, blow bubbles, push swings, sing theme songs to annoying fire rescue shows for them, teach them, and serve.
Because it's beautiful.

Because they are beautiful.

And you understand why every blessing has ever been and will ever be bestowed upon you.
Because you are so loved that despite your annoying flaws, your clumsy nature, and your constant questioning, God loves you so much that He wants nothing more than you bless you. To give you more than you deserve and more than your heart can know to desire.
And it's beautiful.
